- GBIC이란 : Gigabit Interface Converters 약자로, 네트웍 장치들을 파이버 채널이나, 기가비트 이더넷과 같은 광섬유 기반의 전송 시스템에 부착하기 위해 사용되는 인터페이스이다. GBIC은 직렬 전기 신호들을 직렬 광학신호들로 변환하며, 그 반대로도 변환한다. GBIC의 데이터 전송속도는 대개 1 Gbps 이상이다. GBIC 모듈은 시스템 가동 중에도 교체가 가능하며, 네트웍 장치의 능력들을 결정하기 위해 스위치가 사용할 수 있는 ID와 시스템 정보를 가지고 있다. 일반적인 커넥터 형태는 SC 타입이다.
- SFP 란 : Small Form-Factor Pluggable 약자로, GBIC과 같은 역할을 한다. 형태는 GBIC의 절반크기로 일반적으로 LC형 커넥터를 사용한다.

- Through PREMIUM SFP-TX, the 1000BASE-X fiber Auto-negotiation on the host board side is
transparently converted to 1000BASE-T Auto-negotiation on the copper side. the host systems used to work
with fiber SFPs will also work with premium SFP-TX, so there is no need to change MAC software - PREMIUM SFP-TX can also be configured to operate on SGMII mode, which provides with tri-speed mode,
10/100/1 000Mbps operation over 1.25 GHz serial interfaces, as long as the host system supports the SGMII
interface in no-clock mode - The PREMIUM SFP-TX physical layer IC can be accessed via I2C, allowing access to all PHY settings and features
